Common Sense of a Scottish Lass . . .

Over three hundred years ago, there once was a beautiful young Scottish maid walking down a country path. When she spied a rather unusual frog. When she bent down to get a closer look the frog spoke out "please, if you give me a kiss, I will turn into a man and do anything you desire for the rest of the day." The lass quickly picked up the frog, put him in her pocket and continued on her way.

A little later, the frog called out "please, if you will give me a kiss, I will turn into a prince and do anything you desire for an entire week." The lass took the frog out of her pocket, looked him over, put him back in her pocket and continued on her way.

A little later, the frog yelled out "please, if only you will give me a kiss, I will turn into a king, marry you, and will be yours to command for the rest of our lives!" The lass took the frog out of her pocket, looked him over, smiled, put him back in her pocket and continued on her way.

After some little while, the frog pleaded "why oh, why won't you give me a kiss?!?"

The lass took the frog out of her pocket, looked him over, smiled and said "you see, a man, a prince, even a king is an easy thing to get . . .
      but a talking frog is a rare thing indeed!!"
