Scene of the Crime: The University of Edinburgh's Medical School and Museum
The University of Edinburgh's Medical School was founded more than 350
years ago. Today visitors can take a stroll through the same building
where Dr. Robert Knox dissected the unwitting murder victims of William Burke
and William Hare.
For those with a strong stomach - and a twisted sense of poetic justice - you can also see the skeleton of graverobber-turned-serial- killer, William Burke, whose body was donated to the University Medical School for "useful dissection" after he was
found guilty of murder and executed in January, 1829.

Attention visitors: Tartans.com is back. Please note that this is a snapshot of the site as it existed nearly 20 years ago and you may encounter broken links; we are still combing through the site and correcting those as we find them. Please also note that some sections are currently not functional, primarily the discussion forums/clan chat boards.
