Bruce, beginning with the early 1000's A.D. Although this information can
be found through several sources, the most concise is in a book titled,
Signers of the Magna Carta.
BRUSSE, Earl of Caithness and Sunderland, died in 1031 A.D. He married Ostrida of Gothland, and they
ROBERT de BRUSSE, 2nd. came with William the Conqueror from Normandy in 1066. married Agnes St. Clair (died 1080). Robert died in 1094.
ADAM de BRUSE, went to England in 1050 as attendant to Queen Emma, daughter of Richard I of Normandy. He married Emma Ramsay.
ROBERT de BRUSSE, 3rd who was born in 1078 and died in 1141. He married Agnes Bruce (Agnes Paynell) of Annandale, a distant cousin.
ROBERT BRUCE of Annandale married Euphemia.
ROBERT BRUCE II (Robert le Meschin), Lord of Annandale, died in 1194. He married Isabel of Scotland, daughter of William the Lion, King of Scots.
WILLIAM BRUCE, 3rd Baron of Annanadale, died in 1215. He married Christina.
ROBERT BRUCE, 4th Baron of Annandale, died in 1245. He married Isobel of Huntingdone who died in 1252.
SIR ROBERT BRUCE, Lord of Annandale was born 1210, died on March 31, 1295. In May, 1240 married Isabella de Clare who was born on Nov. 2, 1226
SIR ROBERT BRUCE, Lord of Annandale, born in July 1243 and died before June 14, 1302. In 1271, married, first, Marjorie (Marjory) Carrick, Countess of Carrick.
ROBERT the BRUCE, Earl of Carrick, Lord Brus, King of Scots. Was born on July 11 (some records say 12th) 1274 and died on Jun 7, 1329.He married, first, Isabel Mar, who died in 1297; second marriage to Elizabeth of Ulster. |
