Mowat Family International
General Information
The Mowat Family International is an organization made up of people
worldwide who are interested in the Mowat / Mowatt / Mouat surname. We hold
a database of historical information, mostly Scottish, that relate to this
name from 1100 to the present. We also maintain a genealogical database of
information relating to families worldwide. At the present time we have
information on 2800 families and 4000 individuals. We also have a listing
of all Mowats in the International Genealogical Index which can be searched
by name, mother's maiden name, place etc.
We publish a newsletter every two months with matters relating to members
interests, queries, historical information, upcoming highland games and
general information.
Many of our members in the USA regularly attend the various Highland Games
held throughout the country and often operate a Mowat Booth.
Our membership consists of people from the United States, Canada, Scotland,
Australia, New Zealand, Shetland, Chile, and England.
Membership Information
Membership is for the calendar year and is $10 in US funds for an
Individual membership or $15 for family. If you join during the year the
rate is prorated. Requests should be sent to Hamish Mowat
