The Clan Armstrong Museum is registered with the Museums and Galleries Commission of Scotland which controls and supervises authoritative museums. What's more, it is situated right in the heart of reiving country, at Langholm. This is real Armstrong country. Just opposite is Johnie Armstrong's castle, also known as Langholm Castle, (see picture below). The Clan Armstrong Museum Hours: Tuesdays to Sundays, (closed Monday) except bank holidays, from Easter to the end of October.
Open by appointment out of season, with prior warning. Call in and meet the friendly volunteer staff at the Clan Armstrong Museum. You are welcome to do some research, look through all the records, and soak up some of the border atmosphere! The museum is situated off the A7 on the road out of the Langholm. Go past the tourist information center and turn left at the bridge. The museum is on the right. The Clan Armstrong Trust Museum is entirely voluntary and as such, the Museum has to charge to get in: £1.50 per adult £1.00 per child and concessionary. ![]() The Armstrong Museum welcomes donations and can assure donors that, as it is a Trust, every single penny is legally accounted for. Attention visitors: Tartans.com is back. Please note that this is a snapshot of the site as it existed nearly 20 years ago and you may encounter broken links; we are still combing through the site and correcting those as we find them. Please also note that some sections are currently not functional, primarily the discussion forums/clan chat boards.
